When we darted up this morning to receive our foods, we could see it was going to be a fine day. We prefer not to have too much hot weather. The sunshine is falling on the pond.
WE are thinking of larger ponds. The human told us about a pond in the city in a park called Himeji Gardens, that is open to the air and has ducks and turtles living in it and many beautiful plants, so we thought we would feature it today. Continue reading “Good morning sunshine”
We saw him on the edge of the pond and then we know he went out the gate. We know he is not allowed out. He thinks he looks after the human, but she knows he could get run over if he went onto the road, so she is very concerned.
We don’t think he has many brains and he is very young. Fortunately the human saw him at the bedroom window, she told us and she called him in before he could get into trouble.
But underwater it is mild and wet as usual. The Cat Sasha was very interested in seeing us feed, as we come up to the surface, but he then retired. The human says he went for a walk with her and interacted with next door’s dog. Continue reading “Cloudy and Cold”
The water is our home. It is a certain depth and we like it that way. Sometimes it rises, when the water comes from the green mesh part of the sky roof. Even once we had ice dripping down.

We sleep. It is dark. Sometimes the artificial light comes on and drifts over the centre of the pond. As we sleep together, fins gently touching grass and weed and one another, we see the striped angles of the light in the water.
Morning: the sky roof lightens. We rise for food. Blessed be the day and blessed be the night.
A small white butterfly alights on the scaly snout of the terracotta dragon. The cat is asleep on his shelf high up, just under the perspex roof. So the butterfly rests there briefly and then flies back through one of the little rectangular gaps in the trellis and onto the pale blue flowers of the westringia bush.
We have seen some visitors, although our blog is not ready, in a sophisticated sense. The Cat has put a link to his blog and some of his furry friends have come to look at us. We welcome their thoughtful comments. Maybe he does wish to help us.

It is neither too cold nor too hot. Rather lukewarm. WE like it like that. The fountain splashes us and the food floats briefly on the top of the water, then after a brief scurry where we dart through the fountain ripples, we are fed and full and return deeper.
I used to share a blog with a cat, but my siblings and other relatives felt we did not get a proper share of the postings, so we have swum to this Place on the Internet, waving our fins in excitement, and are ready to share our thoughts with the wider world.
